Notification Email not working?

I have JA Submit 2.1 running on Joomla 1.0.8, and it seems like the 'Notification Email' setting doesn't do anything. I've put in a valid email address (double-checked the spelling), but I don't get any notification when I log in as an Author and submit an article.

Any idea of what might be going wrong?

I have no problem with JA Submit 2.1 and joomla 1.0.8. I think you have problem with mailer.

check the mail settings, do you get any other mail from your joomla site?

try both php mail function and smtp function
