TO: JA Submit 2.1 Users,

If you want to download a version of JA Submit 2.1 TWEAKED, CLICK HERE (http://www.digitalaccessusa.com/digitalaccess/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=34&Itemid=62). This version was re-worked by a freelance programmer at JoomLancers to include an added drop-down menu box above 'Category' called 'Sections'. This new programming adjustment works the same way it does on the backend of Joomla/Mambo in the 'Add New Content' component. Since I did not do the programming, I do not know where the new code resides. The above link will take you to my 'development' web site where you can download the complete component with this added feature. Please take the time to read the text before installing...

The tweak seem cool, I believe it will be very useful for other member. We also have the plan to update this component next month

Thanks kalasoft,
We are also in the final steps of upgrading oJoomLancers.com to 2.5 version containing a lot of new features and a clear procedure for both buyers and freelancers :)

Hung,
It would be helpful to make the process at JoomLancers.com a little more 'newbe' friendly. I had to ask my freelancer "what do I do and where do I find that" a number of times. Had it not been for this help, I'm not sure if I could have found my way around as easy. Anyways, this is just my take on the site and in no way took away from the outstanding service and hospitality I received at JoomLancers.com. :D

One addition I'd like to see is an option to set the Page Class parameter before submitting articles.

Ideally what I'd like is the facility to tag each category selected in the admin section with a set page class, so when then the use selects where they're going to post the article to it automatically sets the page class.

Fantastic news - I'm excited to see this com updated. I'm most interested in the Captcha option and the ability to not be forced to click 'cancel' when a user attempts to exit the com in the front end.

Ideally, a user would be prompted with 1 comment box from which the 'Introduction' would be automatically extracted at a predetermined # of chars (configed in Admin). I just find that so many users are confused by the Introduction and Main Body areas...

my 2 cents. Thanks again for the terrific com!

i was browsing joomla forum while i found link to this thread. the internet does make the world smaller :)

i was the developer who added the modification to JA Submit. it's great to see the small change is pinned and people are happy with the modification. thanks to kalasoft for offering me the task and sharing the hack to others.

i played for a while with JA Submit and found some bugs/features which need attention if JA decide to upgrade:
1. security images problem
it needs to check whether com_securityimages is configured to show captcha to registered users or not. if it's not, the captcha image won't appear thus content submission will always fail
2. mosimage mambot problem
if user clicks provides more than two {mosimage} tags, the rest should be cleared
3. undisplayed author name
if the author is unregistered, his name won't be displayed in "Written by" section in the article/content -> this needs tweak to com_content
4. smart content truncation
not many are happy with double filling forms (intro and text area). some only want single form with smart truncation routine between intro and main text

thanks

Mike,

If I have not said it enough...THANKS for accepting my assignment to 'TWEAK' JA Submit. Your code adjustments have made a world of difference in reducing the number of 'Help Tickets' we were getting before your revision. On a good day we would get 10 to 20 'Help Ticket' requests from clients not knowing where to place their article(s). Since your revision went live, this number has dropped down to almost zero. What I time saver!

Again, thanks...

Mikaelfs,

Can you do the other modifactions that you found to be necessary? If so, can you provide an idea about cost please?

Thanks

Good Morning forum,

I'd like to know if JA_submit_tweaked works with Security Images (walter cedric) 4.2.2 ? (Joomla 1.0.13)
I have security images working with ja_submit on one of my sites. I would like to use ja_submit_tweaked because of the benefits of Section and Category selection. Before I install Ja_tweaked, I would like to know if it works with securityImages and if any 'additional' changes to code must be made.

Thanks

Percy
