Greetings Joomers,
here's a concept...
Member forums here are very active, with a broad range of experience & skill; especially evident, is a proven willingness by many to help other community members
Template demo pages have a great deal of info, most have some of the instructional content from the corresponding User manual .pdf published in the various sections & categories.
JA tutorials are some of the top rated in the Open Source community
would it be possible to organize all this info by adding a wiki to the JA site? ... possibly right on the demo pages, user permissions could be granted for groups/members with proven skill working with the JoomlArt templates
a world class joomla template club should/could = world class supportWhat do you think Joomers? any support for this idea? there is a pretty good OpenWiki
available from Joomla Pro Solutions (http://projects.j-prosolution.com/projects/os-projects/project-openwiki.html)
Are there members that would be willing to help by working on this wiki?
The template demos could be full of info (ie. less "greek" text) regarding their use, with lots
of samples & code available- so members could easily cut & paste
to get the function & then modify to suit their sites; meanwhile the wiki
could have info shared from users experienced with JA & the template in question
With good use of instructional graphics (screen shots, etc)
& links to/from threads in the forums--a lot of the communities' knowledge
base could be tapped & put to good use by all members & JA, as well.
less time spent answering the continous cycle of redundant questions
= more time for development of the brilliant templates that brought us all here
in the first place.
just sharing a thought, maybe this is impractical...any feedback??
