All source files are in Photoshop format (psd).

All source files are in Photoshop format (psd).
When is this going to change? Like .png is an industry standard, also Fireworks is a proper Web design (Vector) program :) and Photoshop .psd do not import well into Fireworks ATM though that is being worked on for future releases.
You seem to be on the cutting edge with your template designs and still use a print media package for your graphics :) other template producers can supply in .png format, is there a reason Joomlart cannot also? Like lack of skilled Fireworks users, lack of pirated copies of Fireworks to use... etc?

For your information ShannonN,
You can open the .PSD files with Firework 8 or higher

As a beta tester for FW 9, I have a little bit of knowledge concerning what can be opened and what not, Thank you :)
My previous post said this as a main point
Photoshop .psd do not import well into Fireworks ATM
That statement holds true for FW 8, there is aglitch that sometimes does not show layers correctly on some imported PSD files. Hence the workaround is to use .png format, ( export the PSD as a PNG file format)
However my point is not that a Photoshop .PSD won't open in FW, but the way that they open, given the above point, To explain briefly if I have the same file in a PS .PSD and the same file in FW 8.PNG the file size is greatly different, the png is usually way smaller.
It is this feature I wish to exploit, for time savings, I do not wish to have to open PS, modify, convert export, save as etc etc etc to get a decent .png representation of your artwork, if the file is in .png I open one program only not two etc etc again I point out most other template providers give graphics in .png format
I can see as a company, if you have brought photoshop you are not going to spend profits buying Fireworks etc.
But at template design time, how much more effort and time on the graphic designers area is required to provide the graphics is both PSD & PNG for ppl who don't have, or use or want to use Photoshop?
Probably no more than a total of 5 minutes on the graphic designers time, like it takes no time to save as a png after saving as a psd does it?
Your company prides itself on great templates, how about going the extra 5 mins and just presenting the graphics in a dual format please, it would enhance your reputation, that you LISTEN to customer requests.
I and many others would benefit from that small concession, after all we are paying customers :)

I think the point needs to be made that maybe Joomlart should create the layout mockup in Fireworks instead of Photoshop. Especially considering that Fireworks 9 (CS3) will be replacing Image Ready in Adobe's line up. Fireworks is THE graphics tool for web design. Think of it this way, designing for the web using photoshop makes as much sense as designing for print using Fireworks. You can do it but it just doesn't translate well.
The interesting fact is that if you know PS well you will pickup on FW very quickly. You will then realize that what takes 10 steps to do somethign in PS takes 5 steps in FW.
Just my $.02
Thanks
Jack
