So joomlart stopped to develops above modules and started to develops single component (with another plus cost???)?
then, if i've correctly understood: what happen to user like me who buyed a template like teline2 1.3 who has many problems with it, and who have got no official answers to his problems?
i would like an answer by hung dinh, thanks.
Because i, and many other user feel alone with our problems.

Seems JA Staff are avoiding the Teline II forum. Lots of problems, no official answers. Lots of complaints, no response, busiest forum for problems here, quietest forum for 'official' responses. Although 'pre-sales' questions seem to be answered almost immediately.
I only wish I could have downloaded Teline II as 'beta', because, that's what it is ... full of bugs and problems. Yet, it cost me 70 dollars and I still have to hack the code, fix problems, make workarounds ... only help from 'regular' forum members like me, no help from JA staff. It seems they are happy to take the money and let us guys do the debugging for them free of charge?
Yeah, I would like an official statement regarding Teline II myself, but don't think we'll get one.
To be honest, I'm feeling more and more cheated by the day.

I agree Menalto.
I wanted to state the same thing, but I refrained from doing so. I am glad that one of the Moderators, and one with your rank agree with us, the regular customers.
Now I know why one of my most important requests has not gotten any response -- what I was requesting was the modified JA News, now an extension module/component.
As a regular customer, who would need just one or a few templates, one way of keeping me renew my membership would be to be provided extensions to improve the template I chose -- in this case, JA Teline II.
Well, at least providing these extensions would be the incentives I would provide if I would set up my own template company, to keep the allegiance of ordinary customers who need just one or a few templates, at most.
Let's be blunt about it, the ones that mainly benefit mainly from a slew of regular two templates per month would be some developers. However, having been accorded the Developer status myself, I would not even do that, foist bug ridden templates to potential customers -- if I enter the world of offer to help create websites for other people.
To rephrase Tom -- if we start with a very stable, bug free and easy loading template, I would rather work with just a few templates, master them, create the best manuals and tutorials for them, and support them fully so that my potential customers would be happy.
I would not try to keep their business by replacing the template that I suggested, unless I can find something radically better to warrant any makeover. Instead, I would steer my customer to features that would add value to the website. And, if needed, provide the fixes to any problems.
At least those are some of the things I would do, if I set up my own template company.
Cornelio.

Hi Hung,
I looked at the JA News, It is only compatible with Joomla 1.5. Is there any plan to create one that is compatible with Joomla 1.0x?
I just browsed briefly at the cartoons of the Demo; does this suggest that if this is installed with other Joomlart template, it becomes a Magazine template too, like Teline II? That will make many customers happy.
I am not sure if this is any coincidence, but the first day I joined Joomlart, I requested a template similar to JA Teline II. The first time I was able to install and see the features of JA Teline II, I have been advocating repeatedly for Sections layout similar to the HomePage. It seems the features of the proposed JA News Extension has this feature.
I would echo the suggestion of Menalto:
I feel the extensions should be released for free, even when they are stable.
OR, the people who download and use them and report in bugs should get a 100% stable copy free to use.
but, if you are able to include many of the features of iJoomla Magazine and Ijoomla News -- to create a Joomlart template that approximates a professional online news-magazine -- then it would be truly a more radical evolution of the JA Teline II series.
I will reserve my judgment on this, until I tried it.
Again, I should be as emphatic that no matter how good the new JA template is, without a good Manual and full support, expect a "revolt" from the customers that may dwarf the growing unrest among current JA Teline II users.

Hi cgc0202, I am sorry but the JA News components will support Joomla 1.5 only.
Is this more because of a compatibility issue, Hung?
***********************
just browsed briefly at the cartoons of the Demo; does this suggest that if this is installed with other Joomlart template, it becomes a Magazine template too, like Teline II? That will make many customers happy.
Yes, you can install with JA templates (recommended) but as independent extension, it can work with any Joomla template.
I hope so Hung, I tried to integrate some third party extensions into my JA Teline II but either the extension did not work properly or in two instances, the JA News in my JA Teline II sites disappeared completely.
If this continues I might try the reverse process, and install the JA News extensions in the template of other companies.

This is good to know, Hung. Thanks very much. Now I think I can go back to some older Joomlart templates that I like very much, and use them for other purposes. I hope they are not too buggy.
Or, I will just have to learn to use Joomla 1.5x-JA Teline II.
You can really help us here Hung, if the bugs that are apparent in the Joomla 1.5x-JA Teline II are fixed. I echo and support the criticisms of others that we have wasted too much time trying to do the fixes ourselves.

Oh yes, JA News component is part of this mission.
This is most important for me Hung, it is good to be reassured that you are going in the same direction. I explored this at length with Merav, and was prepared to buy both IJoomla News and IJoomla magazine (each at @ $75) as well as their Poll-Survey extension -- but in the case of iJoomla the license fee paid for the extension includes access to all upgrades of the software in the future.
To be more specific, since I have an access to any of the JA Extensions developed during the period that I have a Developer license, if you will agree to the same policy as iJoomla for their stand alone products, in regard Joomlart stand alone extensions then I will have access to all future upgrades of the JA standalone Extensions, developed during the time I had a Developer license.
To be more emphatic, what I mean by the aforementioned is that I do not have to be a Develper member forever, to have access to to all future upgrades of the JA standalone Extensions, developed during the time I had a Developer license.
Can you please clarify that the same policy will be adapted by Joomlart for the independent extensions of Joomlart?.

No worry cgc0202, developer member will not have to pay any extra fee for any JA products including JA Extensions
.
Again, can you please clarify this too: Based on the Developer license, just like Joomlart is able to translate its license of the Highslide to its customers. I take it, the registered Developers with Joomlart will have the same transference license to their own client
***********************
Again, I should be as emphatic that no matter how good the new JA template is, without a good Manual and full support, expect a "revolt" from the customers that may dwarf the growing unrest among current JA Teline II users.
.
Thank you Cornelio, we always try our best on that.
I do hope so Hung, and I will take your word for this promise. We expect good manuals to accompany each product and good support when there are problems that arise.
We do wish to become loyal supporters Joomlart, at the same time, because of the dearth of support since I came back in mid May 2008, if you followed my postings, you must be aware that I am the main proponent of a Collaborative Support Group that will be independent of Joomlart because as webmasters, webdesigners or simply just the "average" website creators, apart from Joomla and Joomlart templates, we have more needs to cover -- webhosting, responding to technical developments, such as mobile computing, etc. -- that goes beyond the focus of the Joomlart forum.
In light of our experience the past few months though, an immediate focus would be the development of resources to deal with issues regarding the template, especially JA Teline II -- the most popular template of Joomlart.
There is now a Core Team, trying to thresh out the issues dealing with creation of a group, like the Collaborative Support Group. Whether the group will ever materialize is another story. But, if it does, then I hope we can be work together a relationship so that we could continue to use Joomlart templates.
At the same time, the focus of such Collaborative Support Group would be the interest of its members.

Thanks again.

Call me stupid, but I really do not understand this. Let me explain it by example:
I want to use Teline II, and I go to download section of template, and download it. Package contains: Template, PSD, and extension "JA NEWS".
Now I want to use, for example Xenia, and implement "JA NEWS" in it, so I go to extensions download page and download it as FREE BETA VERSION.
So, tell me what's difference between extension from template package, and independent extension?!
I do some research and compare files from extension packages (template and independent) line by line, and can not find any difference.
By my opinion both packages are same, and must be marked as BETA, which then extend to templates too. Tell me if I am getting this wrong.

I have not tried it yet, and I may not be able to do it until this weekend, but if you actually try it tempusserbia, the JA News with component is very different from the JA News that is found in most templates.
Please read the responses of Hung to my first inquiry. If it works as he suggested, almost any Joomlart template, or even template from other companies, can be converted into a magazine template -- that is a very radical advance.
Also, according to Hung, it allows formating of the layout of the categories. That is another new feature that I have been asking for JA Teline II.
If Hung will answer my follow up questions, and this new JA News Extension, will be updated, and those who buy it will get free updates of all future changes -- then they can sell it as a separate extension.
What Joomlart is doing with this new extension, iJoomla sells for a total of $150 -- $75 for iJoomla News and $75 for iJoomla Magazine -- with no template even because iJoomla does not make templates. I should know this, I bought iJoomla Magazine and I told Merav, the owner of iJoomla that I will buy both --(a total of $150) if she can combine the features of both iJoomla News and iJoomla magazine.
Merav promised me way back in September 2007 that she can finish it in two weeks.
It is now July 2008, iJoomla does not still have a native version of iJoomla Magazine for Joomla 1.5x, and iJoomla News is still in early stage.
There is more, why if the new JA News with component will work as promised, it would be much much cheaper than the iJoomla product -- provided the buyers get lifetime update for this extension -- but I do not want to give Hung any ideas.:)
So, let us not be too greedy either -- provided this new JA News will be sold as I suggested in my second clarification to Hung, which he did not yet respond to -- then
JA News with components, will be another very radical advance, even much better than JA Teline II -- if it works.
So, as much as I have been critical of Joomlart -- I would not begrudge them the right to sell this separately for additional cost.
Just do the math I told you. If I bought it from iJoomla -- it will cost me a total of $220 => $150 (for news magazine component) +70 (for the template).
I think it will be difficult for customers to understand this if they think all Joomlart templates now are the same.
JA Teline II is very different from all Joomlart templates. What the new JA News with components as a separate extension can do, is to potential make most Joomlart templates (Joomla 1.5x version only) into the equivalent of JA Teline II.
That is a very very radical advance -- no Joomla templates company has a similar produt yet, even if they come up with the equivalent of JA Teline II.
Again, what I stated here will be true only, if Joomlart delivers a good extension -- no bugs, or at least updated reqularly, good literature for easy use, and good support.
Cornelio
N.B.
You cannot compare two products just by looking at the files and folders -- you have to try them.
This would be like stating the Snow Leopard upcoming OS system for Apple as comparable to the current Leopard because there are no new features see visually -- everything is done in the scripts, in fact, they are making it leaner. And yet, everyone who understands the promise of radical computing are anticipating and eager its coming out. Many research groups in the most advanced computer research institutions, including the academia have been trying to make one, but so far no one has succeeded.
For this reason, some analysts go so far that it will lead to the demise of Microsoft. But, I won't bet my money on that. Most average people will still be buying Windows, and many clueless analyst will still go with the mantra that Windows PC are cheaper for the customers, has more programs, blah, blah, blah. Knowing my own capabilities, I would gladly pay for Apple products than buying those PCs.
Not that Joomlart could even be the equivalent of Apple in the templates company business, but let us give them credit for this advance -- in regard the JA News with component, extension.

So far no 1.0x version yet, digimate. Although it is not clear whether Joomlart will make Joomla 1.0x compatible stuff.

Thanks for your reply.
Maybe then it's better to take away the icons that 'tell' us hat this extension is also working with '1.0 Native'.
So, like the JA News extension also this extension will not work with version 1.0 !!!?
But why does Joomlart let us think it will work with both versions??

I cannot answer for Joomlart, digimate. And I hope they will come out with Joomla 1.0xx version too since most of my sites are in Joomla 1.0xx. Maybe they will. Give them time.

To Hung and Joomlart Staff:
There must be separate Forums for these Beta JA Extensions, or if you plan to use the JoomlArt Extensions Discussion Forums, this must be opened to all customers. The last time I checked before my designation was changed to Developer, a regular member could not access the JoomlArt Extensions Discussion Forums. This might be the case already because I saw some customers who are not Developers who can access and post to the site.
More important, if no support to issues arising these templates are not answered by Joomlart Staff -- then these new Extensions Forums may just become another venue for "beat Joomlart and Joomlart Staff" postings.
My own prelimiary observations for example has not gotten any response, so far.
It is really really very frustrating if Joomlart does not respond -- especially because in Beta testing, Joomlart or any company actually are using people as free labor to do the dirty job for them. Joomlart will make money of it, and the clueless guinea pigs won't even get any slop.

When could we expect the final versions for Joomla 1.0??
And why do you skip betas for 1.0? This sounds like asking for problems .

Correction to my post above:
The beta versions will be 1.5 and when stable they will still be just for 1.5, no 1.0.xx version.
Atleast thats the last message i got this morning.

You gonna make it difficult for me now?
I gotta get in touch with Hung again to get a proper answer from him about it.
Maybe Hung should participate directly Menalto. I hope they will not leave the error testing of the Beta again to members and Moderators -- same old problem. I know you mean well but if Joomlart staff do not participate, it shows much about their attitude.
Hung has not answered my clarifications either, nor responded to tthe bugs I raised.

The JA Staff are all usually gone on the weekends. Better hope for a Monday response. The moderators will not be able to help with these extensions. It will need to be done by developers for these brand new beta products.

The versions for Joomla! 1.0 for these extensions are running through testing cases. It will be online in a day or 2. Please stay tune.
All of your bugs report has been collected and will be updated in the next release. Thank you.
PS: We will appreciate it if the bug report or features suggestion will be posted in that extension forum (it locates in JA Extensions Discussion (http://www.joomlart.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16)) or using our Project Tools (http://www.joomlart.com/forums/project.php?projectid=6)

Since the answer i gave seems to be incorrect i have no clue why i was told so?
There seems to be a huge lack of communication around here since i got one answer late last week and today there are in testing phase.
So can Hung or kasxho please tell me what the heck is going on around here?

I just attempted to download the beta extensions and got the PERMISSION DENIED error. I guess they are now longer allowing downloads either.

Menalto,
Don't let their policy bog you down in terms of your "other plans", follow your own ideas and I think things will sort out on their own. If you know what I mean.
I would not be able to work in the environment that they put you into. And, the worst part is that you get blamed by clueless customers, thinking that you are the face of Joomlart, since you are the most visible.
