Why is it not a component?

After an in depth study as to the purpose of a newsletter system we decided not to integrate PHPlist into Joomla as a component. There is no reason we should put two sophisticated codes together. It will cut down the long list features PHPlist and make both Joomla and PHPlist even less stable. In the long run, a bridge solution will help to make the work of upgrading Joomla and PHPlist less painful.
